The importance of accurate investigation

Diagnostic Investigations

Any diagnostic test is only as good as the clinician requesting it.
Results are dependent on the interpretation in relation to the patients’ history and clinical examination.
Frequently, patients request laboratory testing, such as, for food intolerance. This is something that is offered at The Health Equation, but before such testing, it is important that patients attend a consultation, where a thorough case history and clinical examination will be conducted to make sure the test is clinically appropriate.

Why do diagnostic tests?

Tests help with the diagnostic process to eliminate the presence of suspected disease processes or to help with the patients’ management / treatment strategy. Clinical testing can be expensive, but the results interpreted by an experienced clinician can accelerate the healing process.

“I would just like to say that I have been seeing Gerry Gajadharsingh as a patient for the past 3 years and cannot recommend him highly enough. I went initially with a long standing complaint concerning my knee. I had been told that I needed a knee replacement at the age of 48 and really was not happy to do this at such an early age. Gerry did not just give me very good practical help and advice but gave me the confidence to prolong this procedure. He also did not just look at my knee but my overall wellbeing. He works very much with the patient as a whole and if you take his advice will be a much healthier person! If he is unable to help I trust very much that he can pass me onto the best person possible for any particular problem might have. I have since sent my mother to see him, who has had ongoing problems with her hip and much pain and instability relating to its replacement. Again he helped where many other people were not able to trying to convince her that all was fine and to leave it alone. Thanks to his help and diagnosis she has just recently undergone further corrective replacement surgery with success. If I have any serious concerns he is the first I would contact. He works very much from a holistic side but also with conventional doctors. I know in the future I will have to have a knee replacement and I will take his advice as to who I would like to do this.â€
