Escape to the Countryside – A Restorative Weekend Retreat

Welcome to White Horse Cottage, in the heart of the Pewsey Vale, Wiltshire – home to Gerry and Susie Gajadharsingh and the base of The Health Equation, Marlborough.

Friends often tell us they love visiting for the warm hospitality, peaceful surroundings, and rolling hills. Now, we’re opening this experience to a select few through our Escape to the Countryside wellness weekends.

Each retreat combines Gerry’s expertise in optimising health and wellbeing with the tranquillity of the countryside and the comforts of our home. We host just two guests per weekend – either a couple or two friends – so you’ll enjoy personal attention and care.

Weekend Highlights

Tailored Accommodation

  • Bedroom 1: Double ensuite with shower and WC

  • Bedroom 2: Cosy double with king-size bed, bath and WC next door

  • Ideal for couples or two friends who want separate rooms

Wellness with Gerry

  • Two individual 60-minute treatments for each guest (Saturday & Sunday mornings)

  • Evening talks with Gerry on lifestyle optimisation, health insights & interactive discussions

Delicious Seasonal Meals

  • All meals included

  • Friday: Traditional English afternoon tea on arrival

  • Meals follow Metabolic Balance® principles

  • Wine with dinners and Sunday lunch (optional)

Garden-to-Table Experience

  • Susie grows much of our produce

  • Guests can help harvest vegetables for meals – a mindful way to connect with the land

Optional Activities

  • Join us in the kitchen if you’d like

  • Hot tub, resistance pool, entertainment space, pool table & croquet available

  • Choose to relax or get active – it’s your weekend

Meet the Family

  • Three friendly Miniature Schnauzers, Tilly, Maisy and Betsy

  • Chickens and horses in the surrounding fields

  • Located in the village of Alton Barnes, Wiltshire

  • 10 minutes from Pewsey Station with direct GWR trains from London Paddington (65 minutes)

  • We’re happy to provide station pick-up and drop-off if arranged in advance

  • Ample free parking for guests arriving by car
