Consultation & Treatment Fees
The Health Equation provides diagnostic consultations, osteopathic care and a range of specialist clinical programmes at our London and Marlborough clinics.
Fees vary according to the type and length of appointment and the clinic location. Fees at our Marlborough clinic are generally lower because its overhead structure differs from that of our central London practice. The standard of clinical assessment and care remains the same at both locations.

Clinical Work Outside a Consultation
Where additional clinical work is requested outside a booked consultation, a fee may apply. This may include reviewing extensive medical records or investigation results, undertaking case-specific clinical research, liaising with other healthcare professionals or preparing additional written reports.
Additional clinical review and support: £75 per 15-minute block
A comprehensive written report is already included within the New Patient Diagnostic Consultation and does not incur an additional charge. Wherever possible, patients will be advised in advance if further chargeable clinical work is recommended.
Diagnostic Investigations
The Health Equation can arrange a wide range of diagnostic investigations when clinically appropriate, including blood tests, diagnostic imaging and cardiac monitoring. These are selected according to the individual patient rather than offered as routine screening without clinical context.
Commonly requested investigations include:
- Blood-test profiles through The Doctors Laboratory (TDL)
- X-ray, MRI, ultrasound and CT imaging
- 24-hour Holter ECG monitoring
- Hormonal, nutritional, allergy and other specialist testing
- Functional medicine investigations through Genova Diagnostics
Fees vary according to the investigation selected. Any proposed costs will be discussed with you before testing is arranged.
Diagnostic Imaging Referrals
Where X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, CT or DXA scanning is clinically indicated, Gerry can prepare an appropriate referral to a suitable imaging provider.
Imaging referral and clinical review: £75
This fee includes preparation and submission of the referral, review of the consultant radiologist’s report, review of the images where appropriate, and a separate follow-up report from Gerry explaining the clinical implications and recommended next steps.
The radiology report is sent to the patient once it has been received and reviewed by Gerry, usually within two working days of the investigation. The cost of the scan itself is paid directly to the imaging provider.
The Doctors Laboratory Blood-Test Profiles
The Health Equation has developed a series of combined blood-test profiles with The Doctors Laboratory (TDL). These bring together clinically related markers and generally provide better value than requesting each test separately.

TDL also offers hundreds of individual and specialist blood tests, which can be requested separately when clinically appropriate. The most suitable profile or combination of tests will be discussed with the patient before proceeding.

Functional Blood Analysis
Functional Blood Analysis provides an integrated clinical interpretation of blood-test results, considering patterns and relationships across multiple markers rather than reviewing each result in isolation.
A comprehensive Functional Blood Analysis report can also be prepared for patients or healthcare professionals using blood-test results obtained elsewhere.
External Functional Blood Analysis Report: £195
To provide a clinically meaningful interpretation, we require the complete laboratory report, together with sufficient relevant clinical information. This should include the patient’s presenting symptoms or clinical concerns, relevant medical history, current medications and supplements, and any other information that may materially influence interpretation of the results.
Previous blood-test results are also helpful where available, as these allow changes and trends over time to be considered.
Important Clinical Information
Functional Blood Analysis is an interpretative clinical service based upon the laboratory results and clinical information supplied. It does not constitute a Diagnostic Consultation, physical examination or comprehensive medical assessment.
The accuracy and clinical relevance of the interpretation therefore depend upon the completeness and accuracy of the information provided.
The report should not be used as a substitute for appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment. Where results identify findings that warrant further investigation or medical review, this will be highlighted in the report.
Responsibility for the patient’s overall clinical management remains with the patient’s treating healthcare professional.
Where a referring healthcare professional wishes to discuss the findings or their clinical implications with Gerry following receipt of the report, additional clinical consultation can be arranged separately.
Functional Blood Analysis remains included without an additional report fee with selected Health Equation blood-test profiles for members of The Health Equation London.

Metabolic Balance® Nutritional Programmes
Metabolic Balance is an individualised nutritional programme based on the patient’s health history, clinical measurements and blood-test results. Each personalised nutrition plan is prepared by Metabolic Balance in Germany and supported through structured consultations and clinical review.
Level 1 – Three-Month Programme: £1,188
Designed for patients requiring a more streamlined programme, including those who have previously completed Metabolic Balance or are transitioning from GLP-1 medication.
Level 2 – Six-Month Programme: £1,896
Provides more extensive support, additional follow-up consultations and repeat blood testing and Functional Blood Analysis at the end of the programme.
Both packages include a 20% saving compared with purchasing their individual components separately. Members of The Health Equation London receive an additional 5% discount.
Both Level 1 and Level 2 programmes are available through our London and Marlborough practices at the same package price, as the programme fee already incorporates a package discount.
Booking Your Metabolic Balance Appointments
Metabolic Balance programmes are available following an initial Diagnostic Consultation and once the appropriate programme has been agreed and purchased.
Follow-up consultations can be taken face-to-face in either London or Marlborough, or online, providing flexibility throughout the programme. The number and timing of follow-ups will depend on whether you have selected the Level 1 or Level 2 programme.

The Health Equation Private Health Screen
Our comprehensive Private Health Screen combines a detailed medical and lifestyle assessment with physical examination, physiological measurements, blood testing and individualised clinical interpretation.
It includes a comprehensive personalised health-screen report setting out the findings and recommendations, together with a separate Functional Blood Analysis report interpreting patterns and relationships across the blood-test results.

The package represents a 21% saving of £435 compared with purchasing its individual components separately. Members of The Health Equation London receive an additional 5% discount.

This structured, evidence-informed programme is designed for patients concerned about memory, cognitive function or age-related cognitive decline. It brings together diagnostic consultation, cognitive and olfactory screening, relevant blood testing, Functional Blood Analysis and individualised nutritional assessment.

Six-Month Reassessment Package

Marlborough: £480
This includes the agreed repeat testing, Functional Blood Analysis, cognitive and olfactory reassessment, and final clinical review. The package represents a 50% saving compared with purchasing the relevant individual components separately.
The optional APOE genetic susceptibility test, nutritional supplements and any additional investigations or specialist consultations are charged separately.
The 12-month cognitive follow-up is arranged and charged separately according to the assessment required.

The Health Equation London Annual Membership
Annual membership is available to registered patients attending The Health Equation London who would like structured access to ongoing care together with preferential fees on selected services.
Annual Membership: £590
Membership includes:
- Two Standard Follow-up Consultations of 45 minutes
- Preferential fees on further Standard Follow-up Consultations (each subsequent Standard Follow-up Consultation is discounted by £50)
- Additional discounts on the Private Health Screen, Metabolic Balance® programmes and selected other services
Breathwork and Breathing Re-training
All new patients begin with a New Patient Diagnostic Consultation, providing a clinical assessment of breathing pattern and respiratory physiology within the context of their wider health. This may include capnometry, heart-rate variability and spirometry, followed by individualised breathing re-education and biofeedback where appropriate.
The initial Diagnostic Consultation and subsequent follow-up appointments are charged according to the relevant fees for The Health Equation London and The Health Equation Marlborough shown above.
Clinical Care Package/Breathing Re-training Package:
A discounted four-consultation Clinical Care Package is also available at The Health Equation London & Marlborough for patients requiring a structured course of breathing re-training and/or osteopathic care.

Payment and Private Medical Insurance
The majority of our patients self-fund their consultations and treatment. New patients are required to pay their consultation fee in full in advance to confirm their appointment. Existing patients are normally asked to pay directly at the time of the consultation or service.”
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
Patients with private medical insurance will also be asked to pay The Health Equation directly. A receipt can then be provided to support a claim for reimbursement, subject to the terms and level of cover provided by their policy.
Gerry is registered with most major private medical insurance companies but has chosen NOT to register with AXA Health, Bupa UK or Vitality.
Patients intending to make an insurance claim should contact their insurer before booking to confirm:
- Whether osteopathic care is covered
- Whether a GP or consultant referral is required
- The number or value of consultations authorised
- Any policy excess or contribution payable by the patient
Responsibility for settling The Health Equation’s fees remains with the patient, regardless of the amount reimbursed by their insurer.
Choosing and Booking Your Appointment
New patients with complex, persistent or unexplained health problems should book a New Patient Diagnostic Consultation.
At The Health Equation Marlborough, patients with a simple or discrete musculoskeletal problem may instead select the shorter New Patient Consultation for a Simple Musculoskeletal Problem.
Existing patients should usually book a Standard Follow-up Consultation. An Extended Follow-up Consultation is recommended if you have developed a new or more complex problem, have several matters to discuss or have not attended for several years.
