Drawing on nearly four decades of clinical practice, the book explores how to reason through complex presentations when a patient’s symptoms do not fit neatly into a single diagnosis. Across 522 pages, it brings together anonymised clinical cases, integrated physiology and 47 original infographics to show how the body’s regulatory systems interact in health, illness and recovery.

About the author

Gerry Gajadharsingh DO is an osteopath and diagnostic consultant in integrated medicine and the founder of The Health Equation. He qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1987 and has spent nearly four decades working with patients whose symptoms and diagnoses are often difficult to explain through a single-system model of healthcare.

His clinical work integrates osteopathy, physiology, respiratory medicine, autonomic regulation, endocrinology and functional medicine within the Integrated Regulatory Systems Framework™ (IRSF), his practical approach to clinical reasoning and complex patient care. The book reflects his longstanding interest in clinical reasoning, diagnosis and the relationships between human regulatory systems.
